Spend a day at Stitching kitchen learning the basics of dyeing cloth with Indigo dye. Jane Charles aka Smallbeans is a textile artist who specialises in delivering group projects and workshops who loves indigo dyeing and eco printing among other stitching activities.
This workshop is a great opportunity to dip into the wonderful blue world of indigo dyeing, only basic sewing skills needed to create wonderful designs.Jane will also bring her wax batik pots so you can play with drawn designs on the day as well, the sample designs are perfect for further patchwork projects or stitching together to make a beautiful table runner or anything else you fancy!"
Jane will teach us how to create some fabulous prints and patterns using shibori stitching and clamping to create resists.
We will provide preloved cotton fabric and dye stuffs - equipment list will be provided on booking. As this is a full day workshop please bring a packed lunch, tea, coffee and cake is as always provided.
