The Combined First Aid at Work and Paediatric First Aid Course is ideal for those who work in settings that require both first aiders and paediatric first aiders, such as schools, sports clubs or other childcare settings.  Combining the QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) and the QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) into 3 extended days of classroom learning, this specially designed course enables candidates to gain the skills and knowledge needed to provide both adult and paediatric first aid, whilst minimising the number of training days required to achieve both qualification. Candidates will cover a range of topics needed to provide effective first aid for adults, children and infants including CPR and defibrillation, choking, stroke, head injuries, asthma and much more.

In this intermediate setting class we are going to be looking into traditional techniques for channel setting stones into pre-cast silver rings. This attractive and popular setting style allows for you to learn more advanced setting techniques that will take your skills to a new level. We will discuss how to lay out the stones within the setting and discuss fine tolerances. You will then prepare your ring for setting before you begin drilling and opening the channel and finally set the stones in place. By the end of the day you will have the knowledge needed to apply these advanced techniques to your own designs. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Book your place for an amazing, therapeutic day of sourdough baking. This workshop is suitable for all levels of experience, will last for about 5 hours, running from 10 am to 3pm allowing parents to do school drop off and pick up and includes lunch and refreshments. Attendees will go home with a jar of organic starter, banneton, scraper, canvas bag, an apron and a bread scoring tool (together worth £65) so that you can start baking straight away. You will also take home a baked loaf and a dough you’ll make from scratch to bake the next day.
