Webinar: Mailchimp

By LUCA School of Arts

Following the heart: A Saturday space in May for the wonder of SoulCollage® at The Soul Shed

4.9(8)

By The Soul Shed

‘Collage is a metaphor for any discovering, gathering ad reweaving of energy bits already formed and present in the universe. A new and personal creation can be made from the ever-present divine chaos of images all around us. Just choose, assemble, name and then inhabit your SoulCollage® cards’ -Seena Frost. Originator/birther of SoulCollage® When we come together to make SoulCollage® in community, amazing things happen. There is a magic in the subtlety built into this journeying that only requires you coming along with your curiosity and imagination. No artistic genius recquired whatsoever. Just your presence! Images have things to say to us. They can call us through our hearts, our instinctual knowing, and our open intuitive minds. In this sense, images offer us potals and openings to a deep wisdom stream. All you need to do is be open to the images that are asking for your attention. Then you make a collage, then you listen to what it wants you to know. It is simple, and prodound. Saturday offerings of SoulCollage® at The Soul Shed are a new online offering this year, following on from my other online offerings: A three part Soulcollage® primer and SoulCollage® with a friend. This one in May is the scond of these , and I am offering it bi-monthly. Its ideal for both beginners who would like to try SoulCollage®and experienced SoulCollagers who would like a boost of community creative energy to their practice ! It also will pair beautifully with the lunar-monthly New Moon offering at The Soul Shed - Sunday Openings. If you would like a collaging pack of 50 mixed images and six blank cards and are in the UK, please add on at the check out This is available until 12th May in the UK! I will also send out a free download of images before the event. Please bring your own magazines/old greetings cards/wrapping paper along to for a good stock of images to collage with too! More guidence on that after booking. Because SoulCollage® is a transformational experience, it is hard to convery this in writing. Here are some things past participants have said: Here are some things people have said about a SoulCollage® session at The Soul Shed: "Loved this workshop, from start to finish it made my heart sing.  It was a feast for the soul with words and images that were crafted into something rich and deep for me" -J.E "What stood out for me was how it just happened ....one thing alchemised into another thing” - L.B "I'd describe it as a good way to reconnect with your creative side, relax and maybe gain insight into what is happening inside you" - D.F. Creative Practice

By Airtily

Live via Zoom. Fortnightly - 1/15/29 Oct, 12/26 Nov, 10 Dec - 6-8pm UK time Join artist Julie Galante for this course designed to nurture your creative practice. Together we’ll explore ways to create work that reflects your individual interests, passion, and point of view, no matter your experience level. The course content is delivered over six live Zoom sessions, in a small, welcoming group with plenty of opportunities for interaction. Additionally, there will be optional (but highly recommended) assignments to complete in between the live sessions - assignments designed to get you stuck in to your creative practice in new and interesting ways. During each live session, there will be a demonstration focusing on a particular aspect of visual art - this will include various materials, subjects, and considerations such as composition, theme, mark-making, layering, and so on. We will also have a look at everyone’s recent creations, with celebration of the triumphs and suggestions for moving forward with work-in-progress. Together we’ll explore techniques including drawing, painting, mixed-media, and collage, but you don’t have to work exclusively in these media to take part - all creative disciplines are welcome. Each participant will be encouraged to deepen their explorations in whatever direction interests them most - be it a series of drawings, written reflections, sketches, collages, photographs, mixed-media pieces, or a unique, personal combination of all these. There will be an optional Facebook group for participants to stay connected and share their creations with each other between sessions. There will also be discounts available for other workshops and one-to-one mentoring.

Poynton

An independent art studio where artists of all ages can develop their creativity and gain self-confidence through visual art. Join our email list > "My daughter is enjoying art class very much and thus I am happy and satisfied. :) She actually said it helped her calm down on a day where she had gotten angry with her brother - now that's some good stuff! Thank you for inspiring them, and for all that you do!" Kyrie Shomaker, MD When she was a little girl, Melanie Cramer wanted to be an artist/ballerina/teacher/mommy. Apparently "ballerina" was code for business owner because now she teaches art in her own studio. Her path included earning an art degree from High Point College (now university), many years spent as an art director for print media, and many more teaching preschool locally. She founded Outside the Lines Art Studio in 2011 to share her belief in the transformative power of visual art with her community. Meet the Owner: Melanie Cramer IMG_2835.jpg At Outside the Lines Art Studio, we believe the process of creating is far more valuable that the resulting creation. An artist who has spent time exploring an art medium thoroughly may or may not produce a masterpiece worthy of professional framing and prominent display, but they will certainly produce something they are proud of, independent of others’ opinions. They will have expressed themselves to their own satisfaction. They will have experienced something new and learned from it. They will feel more self-assured and confident. Those are products you can’t hang on the wall, or even the fridge.
