Is AI a threat to history and geography teaching, assessment and quality assurance? Or is it the saviour for teacher workload and a creative force that can bring our subjects to life for our pupils? Is it both of these things, or neither? In this special partnership event from the Historical Association and Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), we explore the implications of AI for history and geography in schools and how we can best harness the power of AI for us as teachers and for our pupils. A single day knife making course is a great way to make yourself an item that will last a lifetime, on this one day course we forge a small knife with a simple ash handle. A knife is one of the oldest tools ever made by humanity and it is one that invokes many emotions to people when they see and use it for a productive task. When doing a knife making course here at Bearded Pig Forge we will discuss the fine details of a knife and how they are made as well as the history of forging them. On the course you will learn the basics of forging a blade and heat treating them in order to get the best results from the high carbon steel, we will also be learning how to fit and shape handles by using a burn through technique to attach the blade to the handle. A walk in the woods like you have never known! Soul Shed wellness walks have become a popular contribution to Altons Walking Festival, and so we have decided to make them a regular thing. Feel free to share with friends you think might enjoy! These interactive walks are for curious adults, and a gentle way to explore your creativity and to get to know yourself better. On Saturday 13th September we will walk with the story of Hansel and Gretel On Saturday 1st November we will walk with poetry and the spirit of Oak and Willow - brought to life !
