Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is choking. Be able to assess an emergency situation safely. Be able to provide first aid to an infant and a child with external bleeding. Be able to provide first aid for an infant and a child who is unresponsive and breathing normally. Be able to provide first aid to an infant and a child who is suffering from shock. The QA Level 3 Award in Administering Emergency Medical Gases (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification that has been specifically designed for those who have a responsibility for providing treatment to patients who need medical gases administering in prehospital environments. During this 1 day course, candidates will learn how to safely administer emergency oxygen, pre-operational inspections for oxygen therapy equipment and the clinical need for oxygen therapy when dealing with a range of conditions. Successful candidates will leave with the skills, knowledge and competencies needed to safely administer prompt and effective medical gases in an emergency situation.

Course ContentThe ALLMI Slinger / Signaller course content is extremely comprehensive and so cardholders are able to use their skills when performing Slinger / Signaller duties with other types of lifting equipment, not just lorry loaders. The Slinger / Signaller course consists of 13 modules (please click here for a list of course modules). The course duration is one day for experienced candidates and a minimum of two days for novice candidates. A maximum of four candidates can attend a course. Both courses culminate in a written and practical examination.AssessmentThe assessment process is set by ALLMI and administered by the Instructor. It consists of two theoretical assessments and one practical. The theoretical assessments consist of a set of multiple choice and ‘open’ questions. The practical assessment is designed to identify whether the candidate has the appropriate practical skills to perform their duties as a Slinger / Signaller safely and efficiently.Card, Certificate & ManualUpon successful completion of the course every candidate will receive an identity card and certificate, and will be registered on the ALLMI database. The identity card and certificate are valid for five years, after which time refresher training and assessments will need to be undertaken. Candidates also receive the ALLMI Slinger / Signaller manual, which is used as a reference guide throughout their career. Industry ExpertiseThe strength of ALLMI training comes from the technical and training knowledge of its Training Standards Committee.
