The Arienas Collective is a creative workshop hub based in a beautiful, Georgian mews home in Edinburgh's historic New Town. The Collective was set up to help local artists and makers earn a living through sharing their creative skills and passions with others. Its name comes from Loch Arienas, a beautiful and remote spot in the Morvern area of the Scottish Highlands. We believe that engaging in creative activity is good for our health and wellbeing. Our workshops suit beginners, returners and those who want to challenge their own creative practice. Group sizes are kept small, so that our artists and makers can give you the help and support you need to get the most from your experience. Join us to release your inner creative and you will leave having learned new skills, made new friends, and with a finished piece we hope you will feel proud of. We look forward to welcoming you to our home.

the silver zebra glass studio

The Silver Zebra studio was established in 2004 and is situated in the beautiful county of Cheshire adjacent to the families farmhouse. Glass workshops are facilitated here for both beginners and intermediates but it is also a full time working studio working on glass sculpture and architectural panels.  Our classes are priced to include everything you need for your time here and also include refreshments and our famous homemade farmhouse lunches too! relax - create - recharge & have fun   Tuition is fun and relaxed with Deborah who has over 30yrs of inherited experience in glass, she will guide you through your time here, work with templates or feel free to explore your own ideas Location - Free Parking & only 10 minutes from the M6 We do hope to see you here soon :)

PHOENIX POTTERY AND ART STUDIO , An Artist owned studio. Located in Phoenix House, in Golborne, Cheshire. Our creative space in our purposefully designed studios in Golborne nr Warrington offers Pottery classes, Art/ Crafts Workshops and Mindfulness sessions ( Pottery and creativity for Health and well-being ) plus Alternative Ceramic Firing such as Raku and saggar firing. We also provide fully equipped studio space for supported sessions. This enables those with previous handbuilding experiece to work independently on their own projects with a technician/ teacher on hand for  technical / glazing advice / support.  Our studio can be hired for running your own ceramics / Art/  Craft Workshops. We can also arrange private individual/ group bookings.  The purposefully designed space is comfortable and welcoming and warm, with a nurturing and creative atmosphere.   With easy access from the M6, M62, M58 and M56 motorway networks. approx 20 miles from Manchester and Liverpool.  WE ARE DELIGHTED THAT PART OF OUR NEW PREMISES ARE FULLY ACCESSIBLE, OFFERING  EASY ACCESS AND DISABLED TOILET FACILITIES. JAMAL IS A FREELANCE ARTIST AND MAKER OF STAINED GLASS. HE WORKED AT JOHN HARDMAN STUDIO (EST. 1838), WHERE HE DESIGNED STAINED GLASS WINDOWS FOR SEVERAL HISTORICAL BUILDINGS, MODERN ARCHITECTURAL SETTINGS, PRIVATE COMPANIES, AND RESIDENTIAL SPACES. DURING HIS TIME AT HARDMAN STUDIO, HE EXPLORED (PUGIN'S) THEORY AND (HARDMAN'S) PRACTICE OF GOTHIC REVIVAL STAINED GLASS. THROUGH STAINED GLASS RESTORATION, HE HAS MASTERED IN MULTIPLE GLASS PAINTING STYLES AND TECHNIQUES USED IN MEDIEVAL, ARTS & CRAFTS, PRE-RAPHAELITES AND GOTHIC REVIVAL STAINED GLASS. WITH OVER 23 YEARS OF ARTS PRACTICE, HE HAS ESTABLISHED HIMSELF AS A FREELANCE ARTIST AND EDUCATOR. JAMAL DESIGNS, MANUFACTURES, RESTORES AND CONSERVES HAND-PAINTED STAINED GLASS FOR A VARIETY OF NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CLIENTS FROM HIS LITTLE STUDIO IN BIRMINGHAM. JAMAL HAS A MASTER OF FINE ARTS IN ARTS PRACTICE AND EDUCATION FROM BIRMINGHAM CITY UNIVERSITY, AND A MASTER OF FINE ARTS IN ILLUSTRATION/GRAPHIC DESIGN FROM THE COLLEGE OF ART AND DESIGN, LAHORE.

Have you ever wanted to create your own peronalised stained glass piece? We’ll show you how! Ruth Summers (she/her) has been creating bespoke glass art since 1998 and runs workshops teaching the skills of stained glass where you can create your own small copper foiled stained glass creation or unique sun-catcher which you can take home with you at the end of the day. * Half Day Taster Workshop – 3 hour (for 1 or ‘you & a friend’) * Full Day Workshop (for 1 or ‘you & a friend’) Prior to the workshop we will work together to design your glass piece so your pattern is ready to be brought to life on the day. We have flexibility on days/times for workshops, daytime, evenings and weekends, so do get in touch

Originally from North Devon, I have lived and worked in various countries, particularly the Middle East and Mediterranean, and have been both influenced and inspired by the different cultures and architecture from my travels.  This combined with my keen interest in the environment, nature and the landscape, has provided me with the possibility of creating unique and individual pieces, whilst helping to preserve the natural beauty that surrounds us.   In 2003 I wanted these bright and cheerful mosaics to  withstand all weather conditions so through experimentation I developed this process.  My mosaic mirrors, panels and lamps and balls are designed for both indoor and all year garden display.   They can be used as wall panels – a feature among climbing plants, placed in a gloomy corner, floated on ponds and lakes, hung from trees or filled with solar lights all bringing a splash of colour to our dormant winter landscapes or creating a hint of “The Secret Garden’ beyond. I run a number of different courses and workshops every month to teach this uplifting and cheerful skill whether just as a day out with friends, learning a new hobby or wanting to  improve your skill.  Please contact me for more information.
