Improve your coffee ritual with our "Home Brewing and Tasting" workshop at Etude Coffee, designed for those eager to master the art of brewing delicious coffee at home. In this engaging course, set within our roastery, you'll dive deep into the world of specialty coffee, exploring the nuances of brewing using the simple yet incredibly popular pour-over method, such as the V60. Throughout the workshop, our expert baristas will guide you step-by-step through the process of brewing the perfect cup. From the fundamentals of selecting the right coffee, understanding grind sizes, to mastering the pour-over technique, you'll gain the confidence and knowledge to replicate a barista-quality brew in the comfort of your own home. The journey doesn't stop at brewing. The highlight of our workshop is the tasting session, where you'll have the opportunity to taste a variety of coffees with different processing methods and origins. This sensory experience will not only enhance your appreciation for the diverse flavours and aromas coffee can offer but also teach you how these characteristics are influenced by each coffee's unique journey from bean to cup. Join artist Julie Galante for an afternoon of homemade botanical inks made from foraged plants and kitchen scraps. In 2023 Julie dove into ink-making, producing more than 300 inks from over 100 different botanical sources. In this three-hour workshop, Julie will share what she’s learned from all these inky experiments, giving you the skills and knowledge to create your own library of botanical colours. She'll share her core learnings, including the best ways to extract colours, the best plants to use, and how to preserve and store your inks. We'll also cover different ways of finishing your inks depending on how you'd like to use them. Please note this workshop will take place in Julie's Stockbridge studio, which is accessible via three flights of stairs. We will also spend part of the workshop foraging outside, weather permitting, so please dress accordingly. Tea and coffee will be provided.

Practice it! Still confident in giving CPR? Ever done it with different barriers? Here’s your chance. Scared of what to do if someone chokes? We have baby and child infant choking models and an adult choking vest. Save their lives! Bandage a wound, apply a sling, treat someone for shock? That can be done. Want to know more about Heart Attacks or Strokes? Just let us know. Know the theory about an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), but haven’t had the chance to actually use one? Now you can. In between that, it is still good to keep one's skills and knowledge up to date. Our special First Aid Skills Practice Sessions give you the chance to refresh your theory and/or practical skills. Whichever subjects you would like to work on. An experienced trainer will be at hand to show and explain. NOWHERE ELSE DO YOU HAVE THE CHANCE TO DO THIS! CPD Accredited: These sessions are non-Ofqual regulated. However, they are taught by our trainer, who is an accredited first aid trainer via Qualsafe Awards, First Aid Awards Ltd and Highfields Qualifications. You'll get accredited quality either way! These sessions are CPD Accredited, so you'll get 1.5 CPD hours with this training. January and June. Record of Experience (eROE) To be eligible to sit your first exam, you have to complete your electronic Record of Experience (eROE). The eROE has to be submitted to your tutor by 31st Jan for March exam, and 31st August for November exam.
