Real life film footage gives delegates an awareness of the dangers of how quickly small fires can spread. The course looks at the fact and fiction of fire, how fires spread and what to do if faced with a fire in the work place or at home. Delegates are given the opportunity to use fire extinguishers on small, real fire scenarios.
The main subject areas of the course are:
The real nature of fire
Identifying fire hazards in the workplace
Action upon discovering a fire
How to select and safely use an appropriate fire extinguisher for a particular fire type
Making an assessment of personal safety in using fire extinguishers
The course will be assessed using continual assessment
The course is suitable for those employees who may need to use a fire extinguisher in an emergency. It is also a requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 that all key employees should receive training in the use of fire extinguishers and know what to do in the event of fire.
This course can be delivered at your premises or at AEC's offices.
