This Clinical Risk Assessment and Documentation training 1/2 day course is designed to provide adult health and social care workers with an understanding of the principles of safety, risk management and risk mitigation within a healthcare environment.
Safety is at the centre of all gold standard health care. Clinical Risk Assessment and Management is integral to the co-ordination and delivery of effective and safe care.
It is acknowledged that risk cannot be completely eliminated; indeed some risks are difficult or even impossible to predict, however advocating a systematic approach to Clinical Risk Management, underpinned by effective communication and record keeping skills maximises the chances of managing risk
Have an overview of Clinical Risk Management and Assessment to include why and how we do this
Be aware of Hazards, Control and Risk, including Legal and Governance Frameworks, Local and National Policies and Guidelines
Have an understanding of the underpinning regulations and regulatory bodies – RIDDOR, COSHH, CQC, NMC and the Risk Assessment Process
Be aware of documentation and components of a best practice Risk Management Plan and the Governance Lead Role
Understand Cultural Sensitivity
Have the opportunity of building a Risk Management plan
Be involved in poor Risk Assessment and Management Consequences – What happens when it goes wrong, including scenarios?
