The fingerstyle instrumentals within Tony Cox's extraordinary book, Fingerstyle for Africa, for the most part, require a high degree of finger-picking skill. If you have intermediate skills and you are not afraid to step into unfamiliar territory, then these tunes will stretch you beyond some boundaries you never knew existed and could enhance and transform your playing.
There are fifteen tunes in the book and Tony has made a tutorial for each piece. The tutorials were only ever made as a once-of, live-streaming video for those who had bought the book. However, despite the limitations of streamed recordings, Tony has edited and zoomed in on pertinent sections, and the tutorials are now a clear and concise aid to learning some of the most complex of Tony Cox compositions. A further benefit is that by posting these low quality videos, the student gets to pay very little money to learn from a superb player and teacher.
Just who is Tony Cox and why should you spend time learning his techniques?
