Thorn Golf Centre

Wide and long golf range with a testing par 3 course which has some well planned holes. The range has clear yardage markers and a car that you can aim at! The mini-golf is fun to play for young and old. A nice sized putting green with 9 flags set to one-side. Thorn has a relaxed atmosphere and a very friendly shop. People that use it are always friendly.

We had great fun playing crazy golf here. Yes, it's a bit shabby - but it was like going back in time and it's full of rustic charm. The owner Malcolm gave us some excellent tourist information, too. The location is idyllic, and is easily accessed from Sidmouth.

We camped here on our walking holiday. Malcolm was an excellent host - he picked us up while we were struggling on the last leg of a long walk up the hill. He made us feel very welcome and is a very friendly guy. The campsite and surroundings are beautiful. We hope to stay there again and attend the music festival too!

Turned up on two occasions to use the range only for it to be closed due to people camping on the range!! The web site says that it is open then when you get there it’s fenced off!! I rang at the beginning of this week to enquire as to whether it was open only to be told that he didn’t have enough golf balls but they should be there in a couple of days.!! A great place to go if you're just learning the ropes when it comes to golf, the pitch and putt course offers fairly straightforward holes with a few small challenges. There is a relaxed atmosphere at reception, with friendly staff that will lend you whatever you need to play your round. Just remember to bring cash with you as I had to pay by cash today.
