A tremendous bar, which was fairly busy, by the standards of most pubs these days, but was apparently a quiet night. My friend was playing music there so went to see him, however, we will return to eat as the food looked great. Great beer kept well. Well worth a cycle detour if you're on the Manifold Trail or close by.

Great little place to stay. The room we had was clean, comfy & had plenty of space. Food was lovely, especially the chicken skewer. They were very accommodating with leaving off the black pudding with the cooked breakfast for me. Everyone there was friendly & helpful. I was shown to the room when I arrived and given an overview of the room & how breakfast worked. Would recommend.

Great host, food for dinner was delicious and never disappointing. The atmosphere and the charm of this inn made our trip wonderful and magical. The breakfast was fine and enough to get us started. Would recommend for short and long stays. The landlords were very kind and helpful, and full of advice.

This pub is absolutely fantastic. We spent an afternoon here on my stag do and it was perfect for the occasion. They have a great selection of beers that caters to all different tastes. There is a lovely snug with a warm fire and free pool and darts. Lee and Jenni were great hosts and deserve all the success in the world. Thanks for a brilliant afternoon, we'll be sure to come back in the summer when you've brewed your own beers!

Been coming to the peak District for a few years and came across this amazing pub a few years ago. Lee and Jenni are fabulous hosts and over the years have become good friends. Popped in yesterday to say hi. As always made to feel at home, nothing is to much trouble. Staff and locals alike are very friendly and welcoming. Food is always first class as are the ales. Great accomodation above the pub. If your ever in the area I couldn't recommend this place enough. Pop in and see for yourself yo...
