DARTED BODICE BLOCK & SLEEVE

Description

An On-demand Online Course for drafting a Basic Darted Bodice and Sleeve Block. The darted bodice is your starting point to creating all great fitting tops, dresses, jackets, coats and including some underwear. This blocks/sloper is one of the 1st foundation blocks. along with a skirt and trousers. From these 3 block all other block can be construct as well of any design one chooses. This block can be use for both woven and knitted fabrics

This course is aimed at all leave using the easy to follow grid meathered develop but your tutor Julia Burrows. As this is a darted block allowing for fit around the bust it is not suitable for children's or men's wear, insted look at the simple dartless bodice block course 
A darted block can be contacted for any size bust big or small, as it is constructed to your own body measurements. Once construct and toiled to get an accurately fitted you would not be required to do a big or small bust alteration to you pattern each time.
You will learn pattern drafting methods as used in industry, to enable you to create your own patterns. Learn how to correctly measure the body, use specified measurements to create a basic block that fits and simple adaptions involved in pattern development.

The course is delivered through short video tutorials, instruction handouts and guides, plus useful tips to support your learning experience. The course is divided into units and will provide a learning journey through simple tasks and instructions.

JULIA BURROWS - COURSE DEVELOPER

This course has been developed by Julia Burrows, a pattern cutter and apparel designer who worked as a successful designer and pattern cutter for 30 years on several brand ranges in South Africa and for suppliers to Marks & Spencers in Britain. She has since taught pattern cutting and manufacturing for Fashion Enter in North London and now works with Textiles Skills Centre, for whom she develops online courses and leads on line and in person pattern and sewing workshops.
