Streatham Guitar Lessons

I can recommend Jac for guitar lessons. He has been tutoring my child for a few years now. Jac has a professional, yet personal manner with the student in mind and what they want to get out of the lessons. My child is a self concious 16 years old and with lots of experience of being taught and he says Jac is really good too.

I have been having two-person guitar lessons with Jac and a friend for several months. He is an excellent tutor, who is able to explain things in a very clear and relatable way to a beginner and manages the pace of the lesson very well. The group format works particularly well vs lessons I have had previously by myself. By playing together under supervision, we have significantly improved our timing and it gives us time to practice different areas without slowing the overall pace of the lesson.

Jac has been teaching my 15 year old weekly during term time for over 5 years and they thoroughly enjoy their weekly lessons. Jac is committed, patient and brilliant with children/young adults. He tailors lessons to students needs - for example my 15 yr old isn’t interested in grade exams and wanted to extend their lessons to include electric guitar. Jac has been teaching my son for the last few years. We have really valued his openness to teaching in ways that bring music alive... they have played songs my son loves and improvised on both the guitar and piano, as well as using more conventional approaches to learning an instrument. He makes the lessons fun and relevant to them, encouraging them to select music and songs that they are interested in. Jac is very professional in his teaching, but importantly he is such a lovely guy who relates really well to young people. I can’t recommend him enough.
