Description

Are you new to sewing or looking to improve your skills? This dressmaking workshop is perfect for beginners or those wanting to refine their techniques, including learning to read and follow a pattern.

During the session, you will create an easy-fitting tunic top or knee-length dress using the Tilly and the Buttons ‘Stevie’ pattern (included in your ticket). You can choose to make either the top or dress version.


What you will learn/achieve
  • Measuring your body to select the right size

  • Preparing your fabric ready to cut out the pattern

  • Learn what all the pattern markings mean

  • Construction of the garment

  • Tilly and the Buttons ‘Stevie’ pattern (RRP £18.50)

  • Full tuition and guidance throughout the day

  • Use of our Pfaff sewing machines (or bring your own)

What to bring
  • Fabric and notions - a list is provided on booking but you can also add a kit to your ticket - kits are normally launched a month before the workshop.

  • You will use Pfaff machines in Stitching KItchen's fully equipped studio

  • Lunch


Please note that this workshop is held in our light and spacious first floor studio at Stitching Kitchen, which is accessible by stairs.


About your tutor

Hannah has been crafting since she was a child, she loves textile art, making with fabric, thread and fibre. She teaches and shares her passion and skills in textile art, felt making and also dressmaking and quilting.

Join us for a fun and supportive day of sewing and leave with a beautiful handmade garment!
