In this two-hour workshop you will learn how to make some rather special bunting to adorn your home. We will cover all the sewing basics, following a pattern, cutting out fabric, pinning, stitching, trimming seams and turning corners, pressing and then stitching to a length of tape.
Your tutor will be Priti, she describes sewing journey as follows:
I love to sew. My mum was a seamstress and I used to love to watch her work. I found time during lockdown to get creative and started sewing bunting, cushions and tote bags but quickly moved on to making clothes for myself and my children. Now there is nothing that I won’t have a go at sewing. I really enjoy creating something beautiful and new from a simple piece of fabric.
Teaching others has been part of my day job for many years. I am now excited to be using these skills to help people get sewing and have some fun along the way!
What's included - All materials, tuition, fun, a cuppa and cake
What to bring - if you have a sewing machine feel free to bring that either for practice or as you will be quicker on a familiar machine! No machine, no problem I have plenty you can borrow. If you want to bring your own fabrics that is fine, although two fat quarters and the tape needed to make the bunting is included in the price of the workshop.
