My son has followed the Stave House programme since the age of 5 and has developed incredible music skills all round in terms of his playing, sight reading, theory and aural skills. All skills are worked on at a similar pace meaning one thing never holds him back from the other thus providing a really strong foundation which I hope he continues to build on as he now progresses to secondary education.

I have provided photography services over the years for Stave House workshops and a theatre production and was impressed with Ruth's teaching methods and connection with her students. It is amazing to see such young children fully engaged and brimming with confidence. Ruth introduced my little 4 year old nephew to the violin and now at 8 years old he plays solo parts at assembly and is writing his own music!

I have loved working with Ruth. She is an inspiring teacher of children and adults alike. I have not met many people who are as keen or dedicated to music making and the sharing of music with children. The Stave House materials are excellent and the team are always available to support the work of other music teachers. Added to that, the work that they do with refugees is Africa is outstanding.

Having been a parent of a stave house student for 6 years I can say with confidence that the stave house method is by far the most successful in teaching music notation. My daughters sight reading skills still continue to surprise and wow me. I would highly recommend stave house to anyone that is considering learning music no matter their age, makes learning music fun

Ruth Travers has personally taught my child for six years now enabling her to read music fluently with the Stave House scheme as well as fostering in her a deeper understanding of music and what it has to offer. She is 11 now, learning two instruments and developing a musicality beyond her age without intense pressure that that may connotation because Ruth ensures it her learning journey is taken at the correct pace for her.
