Had a great time. Bernie runs a happy team of family and helpers ! All no what is expected of them and the open days earn cash she badly needs for the care of the horses and a couple cats on sight. Selling cups coffee and tea + burgers+ hot digs Nd home made cakes.

Found the conditions for the horses appalling, I know it doesn't have much money, but the horses looked uncared for and the grounds leading to the open air riding school atrocious. Being an ex jockey I was disgusted. The only plus was the girl teaching my niece was nice and knowledgeable.

An amazing day with my two granddaughters, for £5 each they got an hour with the ponies/horses here grooming them, they also had a short ride on one of them, a great introduction to these beautiful animals for young and older children, this is a sanctuary for horses and ponies, we all loved it, all the staff were so informative, helpful and lovely Thankyou all at shy lowen

We came here for the pony care for your daughter. It costs £5 (cash only) and kids can first groom the horse and then ride it twice. It all takes around 1h. The team is friendly and, particularly, they seem volunteering there you don't want to criticize. However, we felt a bit better communication of what is happening when, would be helpful for the kids. Again it costs £5 and therefore all good and highly recommended.

Shy Lowen is an amazing place. They re-home horses and ponies that need it and rescue these horses from all over the world. They dedicate so much time and effort into the local community giving young people a unique opportunity to work with and look after the animals. Shy Lowen also run many group and private lessons giving anyone the chance to ride a horse. I have taken my daughter here for years and have nothing but praise for the people who work there and the women that run the lessons.
