Sedgebrook Hall

The service was a disaster. How can you assume arriving in a room that was not cleaned up at all? Towels were wet, the bath gel not refilled, the bed not properly prepared and a glass of beer still in the room. I made the observation a first time and the towels were somehow renewed but not the rest of it. We had a fantastic stay here last night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the grounds were stunning in the thick frost. Our bedroom was very clean, and newly refurbished, as was the whole hotel from what we could see. We all had 3 courses in the restaurant and couldn’t fault a thing, it was delicious. Fantastic all around stay. Staff were accommodating and friendly. Rooms were clean and had a bit of personality so it didn't feel alien sleeping there. Location was perfect for us too.

What can I say, I stay in hotels up and down the country, with all honestly I would say that Benjamin from sedgbrook has been a delight, his energy, cordial approach, hospitality and just his kindness and patience, has been second to none. Booked three superior rooms, all three were very basic. The bathroom door handle fell off, the shower towelling mat in one of the other rooms was full of mould. No ventilation in the bathroom. The window area where we were seated for breakfast was filthy, the carpet needed a good vacuuming. I could have had a week all inclusive holiday for the cost of one night here.
