Ruardean Garden Pottery

The week 'Big Pots' course with John was brilliant! The balance of self learning, group demonstration and 1:1 troubleshooting was perfect. And I did indeed double the size (weight) of my pots from start to end of the week🙂 Although hard physical work at times wrestling the clay, I finished the week feeling accomplished and very mentally relaxed thanks to the lovely setting and group, and thanks to John's structured but easygoing delivery. Hightly recommended!!

Back for our sixth week of pottery classes at Ruardean as we love it so much. John is really patient as a tutor, endless supplies of clay, equipment, and slip for decorating pots. A really great group of people on our pottery week made the week enjoyable. Focused on turning this week and I have definitely improved. Will be back next year for our seventh intensive pottery week.

Had a weekend ’throwing’ course; so much fun. John is an excellent tutor, nice easy pace, happy to leave one to oneself, or give one-to-one hands-on tuition, (we experienced both) as required by the student. Went from complete novice to throwing 2lb bowls in two days, amazing! We plan to sign-up for a week course later in the year. Cannot recommend highly enough. 6-Stars.

Had the most fantastic week attending Ruardean Garden Pottery, 5 days of intensive throwing. Excellent tuition from John, all the clay you could want, new experiences and refining existing skills, loved every minute! Improved the main skill I needed to - bigger pots and learnt new skills - decorating using slip amongst others. A lovely simple lunch each day, regular coffee (or tea) breaks and good company! All I could have asked for, thank you John :)

I have just come back from John's Week Intensive Pottery Throwing course in the beautiful surroundings of Ruardean, Gloucestershire. What an absolute blast I have had!
