Phenomenal course and great clubhouse. Justifiably in the top tier of golf courses in the UK (and the world!)

My favourite course in England, Birkdale, is an awesome layout. You can stand at the clubhouse looking towards the sea, and you don't see anything beyond the putting green other than large sand dunes. The course weaves its way through the dunes, and you rarely see another hole from the one that you are playing. It is a tough start, but if you can hang in, then you have three par 5s in the last 4 holes to try to salvage your score 🕳 ⛳️
