Private Piano Lessons: Florence Carruthers

Florence has been teaching my 9 year old daughter since January 2022, and I’d highly recommend her. Since starting with Florence, my daughter has made lots of progress and grown in confidence. Importantly, she enjoys the lessons. Florence creates a relaxed and fun atmosphere and always thinks about ways to engage my daughter through different music and strategies for learning and practicing. Thanks Florence!

Florence has been teaching my 9 and 7 year olds for the past few months and I am so happy with her teaching! I have been very impressed with their progress but most importantly, they enjoy having Florence as their teacher. She is patient and kind with them, and teaches in a very relaxed manner. I would absolutely recommend her!

My 11 year daughter really enjoys learning piano with Florence. She started the lessons first via zoom over the lockdown and is now continuing them face to face. Florence has been very patient with us while we have figured out what we’d actually like to gain out of the lessons and has been helpful with finding the right type of practise for our daughter. It is still early days but our daughter is now enthusiastically working towards Grade 1.

I have been having lessons with Florence since mid 2020 - it has proved the perfect lockdown therapy. Learning piano (I am an adult beginner) with a highly qualified, endlessly patient teacher. Florence is brilliant, whether you are a newbie like me or want to scrub up on piano skills. Florence (who is a Grade 8 with Distinction) has an extensive repertoire and is I gather from friends a wonderful teacher for younger children also. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Florence has been such an engaging and patient teacher for my 7 year old daughter. She strikes the perfect balance of being warm and friendly yet professional and wanting to get the best out of her. I’m particularly impressed with how far my daughter has come given much of the time since starting piano lessons have had to be online due to lockdowns and yet she has progressed week on week. Highly recommend :)
