After 20 years away from martial arts, I decided to enrol in a taster session at Plymouth Judo Club. A little apprehensive at first, the instructor and senior students soon made me feel very welcome. After the obligatory break fall drills (learning how to fall safely) the lesson moved onto some basic throws. I felt comfortable throughout the session, not once did I feel like a spare part. A great club with very experienced coaches if you're trying to get your children into judo. Also a great senior class , whether you're just starting out, or want a good fight

I took my 2 young children here as a way to get safe physical exercise and boost self confidence and learn self defence and the teachers were hugely supportive, the classes fun and as parents we were encouraged to watch, relax and be part of the kids experience. Compared to many other martial arts the atmosphere is less "business" and more personal. The kids enojy the social experience and the parents can too.
