Under Ian's patient guidance the change in my playing has been beyond anything I imagined possible. In just under a year of lessons from Ian, I experienced significant improvement in many aspects including: piano technique, sight reading, & sound production. Not to mention approaching pieces I never thought I would be able to play! His lessons have proved valuable and would highly recommend them to any potential adult students.

Ian is very focused and very encouraging, and makes the lessons fun as well as serious music. It's great to work with someone with a sense of humour, and who knows such a huge amount about the wider subject, and I feel I've learned a lot about music and composers, alongside learning to play better. He's also extremely flexible about times, always willing to try and accommodate a difficult week, which is really helpful if you're juggling family and work commitments.

I've been having lessons with Ian for around 9 months and have found him to be a patient, intelligent and above all effective teacher. I am delighted with the results and would have no hesitation in recommending him to learners of any level of ability.

Ian is a wonderful teacher who is patient and a true perfectionist. I never thought I could improve and learn so much from him in such little time. With Ian as my teacher, he has boosted my confidence as a performer with his brilliant detailed methods and kind heart. He will devote his time to improve my technique, something which I know will help me for the rest of my life as a pianist.
