I have been training at Oswestry Jiu Jitsu Academy for nearly two years now and I cant speak highly enough of Karl & the club that he has created for all of us. Karl has brought in a wrestling coach for the benefit of us & also has a kids class on the weekend which I help out as my son attends. OJJA prides itself on its friendly and welcoming atmosphere, where both beginners and experienced practitioners can train in a safe and supportive environment. The classes are well-structured and cat...

I’ve been attending OJJA for about a month now. It’s a friendly, inclusive club with a good vibe. There’s a good mix of experienced and novice practitioners there who are all supportive. Karl is very approachable and techniques are shown and explained until we’re comfortable with the steps. I’m enjoying the club and I’d recommend it to anyone that wants to learn Jiu Jitsu.

It's been nearly 3 months since I first started training Jiu Jitsu here at OJJA. I've enjoyed every training session since and was made to feel welcome from the get go! Karl's coaching is excellent, enjoyable and you couldn't ask for a better group of people to be practicing with. I can't recommend this club enough for anyone new to jiu jitsu or those with prior experience.

I have only been back a few weeks, but you are welcomed in, all the other guys are really supportive and friendly, and Karl’s knowledge is second to none. You can roll at your own pace, especially needed for us more mature gentleman/gorilla’s!! Couldn’t recommend highly enough. You learn techniques from day one, an...

I first started training with Karl and the team around November 2021 following a year long break after moving home from New Zealand. Having done some research on clubs and sent some messages back and forth to Karl, I knew OJJA was for me - I made the 100 mile round trip and haven’t looked back since. As soon as I walked in I was instantly made to feel welcome by everybody, I was included straight away and have never been treated any different because I’m female. The classes cater for everyo...
