Alex is a wonderful cello teacher and person. She is friendly, down-to-earth and very patient and encouraging. I borrow one of her cellos to learn with and it is not expensive. She tunes it at the beginning of each lesson. In my year and a half (so far), I feel that I have made good progress and I can do as much or as little as a busy mum has time for. As a busy teacher in a boarding school it was key that I found a teacher that was patient with my busy schedule. Alex is exactly what I needed! She is great at motivating and is able to encourage generously when things gets tough. I love that her standard teaching method does not include grading - although she has given me the offer - because it means I can develop at a pace suitable for me, rather than learning how to tick boxes!
