Statistics show that there were over 73,000 children identified as needing protection from abuse in the UK in 2020 alone. The COVID-19 pandemic has also brought to light additional challenges and risks for children, with reports of online grooming and child sexual exploitation increasing by 80% during the pandemic.
By learning about child safeguarding and protecting children from abuse, individuals can play a role in preventing and responding to abuse, helping to reduce the number of children affected. It is not only important for those who work with children, but also for parents and caregivers, as they are often the first line of defence for Child Safeguarding. Investing in this Child Safeguarding training can ultimately lead to a safer and more secure future for children in the UK.
