Mayen Estate

We have just had a wonderful stay in Butlers Cottage on the estate, the cottage is very cosy, the bed and pillows are so comfortable we found it hard to get out. We were concerned about how to use/keep the hot tub warm but we shouldn't have worried. We stayed in the Guardhouse from 12 - 16 Sep 2022. our arrival and introduction to the accommodation and walled garden was carried out by a very pleasant member of staff who answered all our questions and offered some advice on local places to visit. the accommodation was superb, and they really did think of everything, the hot tub and outdoor kitchen / dining area complete with BBQ, pizza oven was fully equipped or great outdoor entertaining. Stayed in the Guardhouse for a few days during the height of the heatwave 2022! A gorgeous setting for a short break, with fantastic amenities including a hot tub in the private garden, and outdoor kitchen with barbecue. Communication and attention to detail was also fantastic throughout, nothing was too much trouble, and we found all the local advice so helpful for planning how to spend our trip. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed for 3 nights at the Guardhouse and just didn't want to leave. The guardhouse has everything you need and is in itself a nice place to be, but if the weather is good you have a well equipped outdoor kitchen in the garden with a hot tub, bbq, pizza oven and a sun lounger that overlooks the garden. Everything was just perfect. The cottage is immaculate, beautifully decorated, well equipped and comfortable. There were so many lovely touches: pizza oven, the wood fired hot tub was warm for us arriving and some eggs and biscuits waiting for us.
