I went to a conference in the area downstairs . It was quite a pleasant space; large and well lit. I found the acoustics were not well adapted to my hearing or the PA was a bit muffled. But overall a good venue for event.
This was a brilliant venue for my Aunt's 90th. The staff could not have been more helpful or considerate. We were in the Charles Dickens library overlooking and with access to a courtyard. A very atmospheric place. The food and service were excellent. A wonderful time was had by all.
Hesitant ‘Arts and Crafts Movement’ compound (add a touch of Art Nouveau), turn-of-the-Century former educational ‘Settlement’ named after long forgotten Victorian authoress and philanthropist.
Repurposed as a suite of rooms, halls and spaces for hosting events, seminars, conferences and workshops etc.
Retains significant original period fabric and some furnishings.
