Mark is not only an incredibly knowledgeable and encouraging teacher but an extremely talented guitarist. Some of the stuff he plays is awesome, if not better than the original! I came to Mark with zero knowledge of how to play guitar and right from the get-go, Mark actively helped me to find the perfect guitar for me as well as any required accessories and got me playing straight away. A year later and I already have a handful of great tunes under my belt. Lessons are fun and varied, cov...

I didn’t start learning guitar until I was 33 and Mark was (and is) my first teacher. I knew I’d be rubbish and I was a bit nervous but Mark was really patient and encouraging. Nearly four years later he’s still just as patient and encourages me to explore what I love about music. Mark is a great teacher and a phenomenal musician. He can hear things once and play them in minutes and talk you through how to get there and how to make it your own. He’s also a lot of fun!

Low stress and fun way to learn, using music you choose My two girls have been learning guitar (mainly electric, some acoustic, a bit of bass) with Mark for around 5 years. It’s been a great and low-stress way for them to quietly become proficient at guitar. I wish I’d had this chance when I was young. I've had lessons with Mark for several years and it's really moved me from a complete beginner to playing in a band, home recording, and singing too which I never imagined I'd do. I've also picked up a fair amount of music theory as well. Mark is willing to take on most songs I throw at him to teach me how to play them, as well as having a vast number of songs he can draw from to teach you, and it's interesting to see how he covers a tune and puts a personal twist on things. Not much gets p...

I've had lessons with Mark for three years. He's an enthusiastic and versatile teacher - he's helped me develop across a range of skills,, improving my technique, precision, my capacity to improvise - and he's helped me develop some confidence with singing.

Mark is my first guitar teacher and so far I have enjoyed it. He teaches you different styles and songs and guides you every step of the way. I'm a left handed guitarist but that is also not a problem for Mark. Mark offers students a discounted rate which is incredibly useful. I'm enjoying my lessons and learning to appreciate different musical styles that can be performed on my guitar. Most importantly, you feel like you're making progress after every lesson.
