Don't go through the British Council. This is just a private enterprise hiding behind an official sounding name. They are utter bandits and just want to rob you. The exam charge when worked out on an hourly basis is GBP435 an hour. I don't even pay my lawyer that..... total robbing oiutfit who don't give a monkies about you.

In the winter of 2016/2017 I stayed at LSI Portsmouth for six months and I still benefit from it. I started with the CAE course, passed the exam and decided to stay and follow the CPE course. Not only did I have great teachers and schooling but also the social program is impeccable. The classes aren't too big so you get taught really well. At the LSI Portsmouth I felt comfortable from the very first day; that's why I came back a second time (initially for two weeks and then, two years later, for 4 months to attend also the 12 - weeks CAE course). I spent here few months and it was the best experience ever. The teachers were amazing and really friendly. The social program was awesome. I could meet guys from all world.
