Laneway Lodge

I went here yesterday for a 2 hour ride and had the best time. The most fun I've had on a horse in years. I rode the lovely Laurie who was very sweet and steady. John showed me some groundwork techniques before letting me on, which was great as I got to get to know her a little bit which made me more comfortable. Fantastic day with John , he was absolutely amazing with kids and taught them so much about riding and controlling the horses. A must do for a great experience for everyone. The horses were so patient and well looked after. Will definitely be booking another day out at Laneway Lodge. Some great memories made. 👌 👍

Very sweet horses and john is a nice and friendly person. I asked for a 3 hour trail ride when booking and asked what was included. We were told a 10 minute introduction to natural horsemanship and a couple of obstacles before getting on the trail. This would have beed fair enough and i thought the actual ride would be about 2 hours. Well i was in for a big disappointment. Me and my boyfriend first met John back in 2016. We had such a great afternoon with John and his horses, the experience was second to none. He's wealth of knowledge is something that everyone should aspire to and the way he handles his horses. Neither of us had ever ridden western style before so it was nice to cover some groundwork to begin with. Best afternoon spent in a long while! We have since been back and always recommend this experience to anyone looking for a great day out.

Went here recently as I booked myself a western holiday in Portugal and John could not have been more helpful! His quarter horses are fantastic, training and advice is second to none and it’s set in the beautiful Mourne Mountains that give you a true Irish experience! Anyone looking for something different or want to give western riding a try this is the place to go!
