I have been to multiple Jiu Jitsu gyms before but none of them have been as welcoming as Mark and the kraken team. I have been for 3 sessions so far and I can definitely say I’ll be going back as much as possible. Mark is a skilled teacher and has brought together a great group of people, it’s definitely worth trying out.

An awesome gym with a great mix of people. Welcoming from day one. Mark is a natural teacher, as well as an absolute Jiu Jitsu nerd, whose passion for the sport is infectious. If you’re thinking about coming down for a trial - just do it.

The community at Kraken is second to none. I’ve felt so welcomed by those who have been coming for years, and are still more than happy to take the time to accommodate a novice such as myself. The teaching is phenomenal and you are given such a high level of support that, even if you get it wrong, you aren’t afraid to ask for one-to-one help, in order to have the confidence to try again. I could not recommend Kraken enough to anyone wishing to start jujitsu!

Mark is an extremely knowledgeable and passionate grappling instructor. Mark tailors his approach differently for each student to make them the best they can be in the most efficient way! The gym is clean, safe and has a fun friendly atmosphere. Whether you are a complete novice or an expert I would highly recommend training at Kraken.

Mark was able to put my mind at ease and tailors his classes to be accessible to both advanced students, and complete noob novices like myself. I’m having a great time, and the nerves haven’t quite gone away just yet, but I’ve al...
