Having played some eighty odd courses in Essex , way up the list is this . It has everything in terms of challenge and beauty . In fact less than a mile away is a private course which rates in the top one hundred in England and is the only course in Essex on that list . But for me , having played both , this is the better course ! And that tells you all you need to know . Fantastic value

The shop is top notch. Now has a booking system online which is great. The course itself is unbelievable, for the price it's the best round of golf you'll play in Essex in my opinion: Greens are superb, variety of longer holes and shorter holes, picturesque water features, and some stunning backdrops to greens. Teeboxes are also as good as any essex golf club I've been too. If it were to cost £50 at a private members clubs you wouldn't bat an eyelid..

The course was waterlogged. The layout was fairly good. Rain had been pretty heavy to be fair. But other nearby courses played better than this after a heavy downpour. This may play better in the summer. 3 is a harsh score. But it doesn't deserve a 4.

For a municipal course, this place is fantastic. The fairways and greens were in great condition. Some of the bunkers were a little shabby, but given we are only a few weeks into being allowed on the course following the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, completely understandable. Whatever way you look from greens or fairways, the landscape of the course is so pleasing on the eye. Love playing here.

Very Well Presented Municipal Golf Course and good value for money. My only criticism is that they allow absolutely anybody to play it, and by anybody I mean people whom from what I witnessed looked as though they'd never swung a Club before, unfortunately this leads to one huge problem...SLOW PLAY and BAD GOLF ETIQUETTE which can quickly ruin an enjoyable round of golf. May I suggest Golfers starting out or those who can't hit further than 50yds stick to your par 3 courses or crazy golf for...
