I can't speak highly enough of Ajit the owner of this shop. I have just bought an instrument advertised online and the service I have received, over the phone initially and subsequently by text messaging, has been exemplary. A really genuine person and a pleasure to do business with. I have no hesitation in recommending this business.

Great service from a knowledgeable owner. I needed a half size violin for my son who has just started violin lessons in his school. Ajit, the owner, gave very honest advice and recommended a good second hand violin to which he added new strings and a new bow, all for a very reasonable price. They also have music rooms in the basement for lessons.

I was very impressed with their costumer service, support and knowledge. I had to buy a violin for my daughter last month but I’m completely ignorante in the subject. The person that help me was extremely knowledgeable and caring, suggested what was best for my daughter and not necessarily what costs more... she will soon grow her violin out and I will go back to them time and time again, in fact I think if my daughter is ready we will start taking extra lessons there! Ebony & Ivory are an absolutely superb music shop and a perfect example of a wonderful local, independent music shop. Both the shop and the music school are superb. The shop is a family-run business and all the staff very quickly get to know their customers and get on first-name terms with them. Their stock is very comprehensive, and any music they haven't got can be ordered for you and arrives rapidly.
