Very forgiving is a good phrase for this course . As a local only living about fifteen miles away , if my golfing confidence is suffering I come here to hopefully get the encouragement I need . Very poor standard, rating of two stars because they did start to cut the grass as we neared the end of the round. I don’t think I’ve ever lost a ball in the middle of a fairway but I did here today. The grass was too long and had masses of white clover. The greens were very poor quality with weeds and the sand in many of the bunkers was hard. A long Open Link style course at 6274yds off the yellow. Due to the openness of the course any wind feels a lot more. We had a 15mph wind it feels a lot more. Fairways are open and lush with no real hazards on the 1st9. On the 2nd 9 lateral hedges and water come into play. Some blind holes over hills with a marker poles. Dog leg right holes 3rd & 5th. Wonderfull par 3 course which caters for all levels of golfer and has an interesting layout. 9 hole fees available circa 4 hours before nightfall. Back 9 is more interesting than the front nine but combined you have holes rangeing from 62 to 200 yards but most are circa 120 ish
