I can see exactly where everybody is coming from. Neil has his way of teaching and i experienced getting slapped on the leg for "riding the clutch" having my arm grabbed if i left it on the gear stick for longer than 3 seconds. We had a couple of heated arguments where we had to pull over because on was on the verge of exploding. I dreaded my lessons with Neil but at the end of the day i passed my theory and practical first time and thats all that really matters and he really knows his stuff....

I don't see what all the fuss is about that people make, Neil is a very calm instructor (as long as you don't panic and that). Altogether I spent around £200 on lessons and I never felt as though I was driving, I did hill starts and junctions for around 10 hours. When I questioned him, it felt as though he didn't trust me and he kept on repeating that I was driving wrong but he wouldn't say what I was doing wrong. One day it came to be too much and I broke down crying and he said to "buck up ...

Originally chose this driving instructor because his qualifications looked good and the lessons were cheap however, I now know why (when deciding what driving instructor to go with) people say don't go cheap, they're cheap for a reason. For my first lesson we went down a country lane (already not a great place to start for someone who has never driven before) but after going through the car controls and other things he wasted my time (and money) by going to the toilet. I felt like on my first...
