Driver Skills North East

I wholeheartedly recommend Driver Skills North East. I had a bad experience with a driving school where the instructor told me to stick to a bus pass and do not carry on trying to learn to drive. After research, I spoke to Sarah and Dave who had confidence, understanding and support in my ability to learn. Because of Dave’s commitment I passed first time today. I am forever grateful to Dave for being very supportive in helping me achieve my dream of driving.

I cannot recommend Sarah from Driver Skills North East enough. Several years ago, I began learning manual and had a negative experience with the instructor which put me off getting behind the wheel again until recently. I was very apprehensive about finding the right instructor for me, especially as someone with a partial visual impairment meaning I needed a bit more reassurance and understanding of any adjustments I required, which is why I decided to start again in an automatic. I had an unpleasant experience in this driving school. My husband bought a 20 hours driving lesson package for me but I only used about half. The driving instructor has no patience, I do not recommend this school to non-native English speakers or driving beginners.

Learning to drive with Melissa was such a positive experience. She is very patient and gave clear instruction. I am now confident and comfortable behind the wheel because of her. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for lessons in the Durham area :))) (also shout out to Gareth, I did a mock test with him and he’s also a great instructor)

Very happy with my experience. I'd had a few lessons previously with a different company/instructor but switched due to a negative experience - and I'm so glad I did! My instructor Mel was so lovely - she was always very patient and explained everything. When I first started my lessons I was very anxious about driving but I found that after a few weeks I was looking forward to my lessons! Would absolutely recommend for anyone looking for instructors in the Durham area.
