  • Recently attended one of Robbies set up courses to learn more on guitar maintenance. Really helpful and patient teaching approach with a wealth of knowledge on the subject. Highly reccomend.

  • I took my 1970s Epiphone Casino to Robbie, it wasn’t playing quite right. He diagnosed the problem within a few minutes (a slight hump in the neck), a few weeks later the issue has resolved, the guitar looks and played like new, thanks Robbie ! absolutely top quality work ! Extremely knowledgeable and also a very welcoming and friendly chap. I would definitely recommend Dr Roberts Guitar Surgery, thanks Dave

  • I have known Robbie for over 20 years and worked with him in the workshop in his family business. During my time there I have seen countless dozens of guitars coming into the workshop (including most of mine) for anything from a basic set up to a full restoration and he seems to have an instinctive feel for exactly how the customer needs their guitar to feel and behave. He has rescued and beautifully restored some extremely valuable vintage pieces and wife Julie is an expert on fine-art finis...

  • In my fifties I decided to get myself some guitar lessons. I've played in bands and can do OK but there were certain things that just eluded me, particularly soloing. • I first met Robbie in the 1980s after having dropped a Gibson Hummingbird and smashing the top. Robbie completely replaced the top and the quality of his work was astonishing. Recently he repaired a Martin 000-17 for me and again, the quality of workmanship is faultless. Robbie is a highly skilled and knowledgeable craftsman and a guitarist of some note, he is also a really nice, decent bloke, in fact precisely the sort of person you'd love to hate but you just can't.
