We had my mum’s 94th birthday meal in the restaurant with a party of 11. There was also a wedding on and a baby shower so it was very busy and noisy but that didn’t detract from the quality of the food. The service was slightly on the slow side but we put that down to the other events going on at the same time (reflected in only 4 stars). Had a lovely meal on Friday to celebrate my husband's birthday. Food was fabulous, cooked to perfection. I never got the waiter's name but he was excellent, (South African). Very attentive, always checking everything was okay without being intrusive. Lovely setting within the restaurant, nice ambient atmosphere. Will definitely return.

We went here for a meal and it was absolutely wonderful to start with, but we did feel that we were holding the staff up on leaving time as the meal carried on. The food was top quality although the serving staff seemed a little confused about how the steak was cooked and that showed in how it was actually cooked for each person, with not many of the steaks being delivered cooked how they were ordered (from rare to medium swapped about). Lovely 4 nights stay. Good size rooms. Comfy, good amenities and quiet as far from the hustle and bustle of the oub and restaurant. The cleaners who comes in daily does a fabulous job, very friendly and helpful as well. My special thanks to them. Only criticism is the water temperature, takes awhile to get a nice hot shower. Anniversary celebration lunch on Sunday. Friendly, professional staff, really enjoyable food and extra care taken over my wife's gluten intolerance. Great value, great service. Excellent local choice, whether it's a casual get together or something more formal.
