Nice looking water but that's where it ends. The anglers aren't properly catered for, there is only the restaurant staff there until the cafe opens at 11am and even then there's no one to give any tips on what is catching and there's no flies, nylon or any sort of tackle for sale a d if you are lucky enough to catch fish they aren't good quality. I won't be back.
A lovely spot for fisherman to test their skills, only a couple of miles from Kilmarnock town centre.
Plenty of parking spaces and the excellent Lairds Table restaurant nearby.
(sadly closed for now due to the bloody pandemic)
A lovely setting good place for walking but really muddy in places, a warm friendly welcome in the cafe beside the lochan. Limited menu but well prepared.
