Cowes Week

Good fun

As usual no boats to look at after the start apparently they cannot keep boats in Solent because of the shipping lane (there is plenty of water that isn't in the shipping lane) the little tents on the parade selling a variety of things are far too expensive (that's because the council charge them a fortune for a pitch) the marina was a pitiful site such a shame as used to be an amazing event ☹️

Cowes week is brilliant, there’s always a good atmosphere plenty of food and drink, and to mark the end of cowes week there’s a brilliant fireworks display

I have lost count of the number of Cowes Weeks I have done since the late 70s... I was turned off by the corporate commercialism of the 2000s but in some ways the hard times after 2008 have refocused this event back on the sailing.. Only 600 boats and a lively week for weather but I loved it again

The best night out you can have on the island. Easy to get to from anywhere. If street music and a sing along is your kinda thing then head here for a couple of nights. Going on from midday till late there many memories of dancing, eating fast food and calling Taxis begging to take you home to be had so don't miss out.
