Trauma Informed Practice in Education is a research evidence based whole school systems approach that starts with you. Improved attendance, improved learning outcomes, reduced suspensions and exclusions and better staff recruitment, retention and wellbeing all begin from a place of understanding child development, the impact of adversity on child development and the role of us as educators in supporting opportunities for growth and resilience. Systems change takes teamwork, however the most important member of that team is you. On this Trauma Informed Practice Day you will learn the why and how to keep you well and resourced in order to support the emotional and academic progress of the children in your school. You may already have some knowledge or you may be coming as a complete novice. Either and anything in between is fine. Numbers are limited to keep the group small for the benefit of more enriched learning. On this practice day you will; • Take a deep learning dive into the nervous system and how this applies to you, your setting and the progress of your learners. • Learn practical skills and strategies to support yourself and others. • Have opportunities to discuss children you are working with through small group supervision sessions • Benefit from a day of immersion into the topic with two highly qualified and experienced practitioners.

This one day training will give learners an overview of how to deliver Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST). CST is a brief evidence-based group treatment for people with dementia. This interactive course will include a background about CST and how it can be used, research overview and detailed presentation of the treatment, including video footage and role-play.

The EVI Training course is a Welsh Government-funded initiative designed for local authority officers involved in the planning, coordination and delivery of public electric vehicle infrastructure.  This course is for Welsh local authorities and public sector workers only and is not open to the public.  This comprehensive course delves into the crucial facets of electric vehicle infrastructure (EVI), equipping participants with indispensable insights and expertise essential for navigating the dynamic landscape of electric vehicle infrastructure.  Across the ten weeks, learners will cover electric vehicles (EVs) and charging technology, stakeholders, strategy, procurement, deployment and operations, empowering participants to facilitate effective EV infrastructure rollout. Participants will gain essential knowledge and skills for EVI deployment, fostering consistency and knowledge sharing across local authorities, ultimately supporting the transition to EV. / Learner Testimonial:  The EVI Training course has been invaluable in improving my knowledge and confidence in EVI deployment. The course structure takes the learner through the whole process, from understanding the reasons why it’s needed, to planning, development and installation. This first aid course is ideal for primary and nursery school teachers, child minders and child careers. Learn how to manage emergency situations or minor everyday occurrences when looking after infants through to teenagers. Qualification meets the criteria defined for first aid training in the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework (EYFS) and Ofsted first aid requirements for registered childminders. It can also be used as evidence for employees working towards an NVQ in Childcare and Education. Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of training and be able to perform tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements but we strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
