Our experience is embedded within the educational field, in particular with those children and young people who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school environments, those at risk of exclusion and those who have experienced trauma or disruption to emotional health and development. We strive to create positive experiences through evidence based research and psychosocial interventions to nurture children, young people and families. I have a passion for all things that support physical, mental and emotional health. I discovered yoga over fifteen years ago when I was going through a very stressful period in my life. It’s this journey that has made me who I am today. I have trained in yoga, meditation, mentoring, counselling and coaching. I continue to be a student and invest in life long learning. I am a qualified lecturer in Literacy , I spent fifteen years in adult education and ten of those years spent working in prison education. I swapped my classroom attire for leggings and here I am fulfilling my purpose by inspiring women from all walks of life. I offer yoga classes, 1-2-1 sessions, workshops and yoga retreats , life coaching sessions and corporate personal development and growth workshops. Back pain is one of the most common conditions that people live with in the UK today. The vast majority of us are likely to be affected by back pain at some point in our lives. For most it will be a short lived experience but for others back pain is ongoing and affects quality of life, making ordinary daily tasks difficult or at worst simply impossible to perform. Chronic back pain can result in depression, low self esteem, unemployment, the breakdown of relationships and more. Here at BackCare we provide information and education to prevent unnecessary back pain from occurring in the first place. However, whilst prevention is better than cure, we also understand that not all back pain is avoidable. A large part of our work at BackCare is to provide practical and emotional support to people living with back pain whether caused through wear and tear, injury, musculoskeletal disorders such as Scoliosis, Spina Bifida, Arthritis and Axial SpA or other serious underlying health conditions like Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, or Cancer, for example. BackCare was the brainchild of businessman and philanthropist, Stanley Grundy who in 1968, set about creating a charity dedicated to those living with back pain, regardless of cause and educating the public in ways of preventing back pain. Today, some 50 years on, we remain resolute in our efforts to significantly reduce the burden of back and neck pain by working together with people and organisations and those affected by such pain and providing information, guidance and advice to all. We are proud to have HRH The Prince of Wales as our Patron.

Alyssa Peterson is a Licensed School Psychologist and the sole owner of Phoenix Education Solutions, LLC, a private practice company founded on the sacred ground of social justice and resilience. Inspired by the unique needs of underrepresented populations in public school systems, Alyssa envisioned starting a business that expands her mission to advocate for equity in student achievement. From 2015-2018, Alyssa served the school communities of South Central Los Angeles with her whole heart. She observed the daily impact of the achievement gap and collaborated with stakeholders to improve school-wide support systems. To take her advocacy even further, Alyssa joined the 2018 Policy and Advocacy Team for a non-profit organization, Educators for Excellence. Her leadership in public policy reform is evidenced within a teacher-led policy paper designed with recommendations in the areas of instructional support, restorative justice, and social-emotional learning, as well as family engagement practices.

My name is Britta Schuessler.  I am passionate about wellbeing. I have been a psychotherapist since 2003 and have run mindfulness courses since 2015. When I first came to Scotland in 1992 I learned about mindfulness and I have practiced it ever since. I have taught mindfulness in groups since 2015.  I am a certified Mindfulness teacher trained by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach. Mindfulness has been very important in my life. It helped me through some very difficult times including a relationship breakup, bullying and chronic illness. It has also been one of the most important things I learned that helped me to live my life fully, enjoy myself and feel resilient, no matter what life is throwing at me.  Mindfulness has enriched my experience of life, strengthened my emotional core and has made my relationships so much more effective. Therefore I want to share this with as many people as I can. I think Mindfulness is what most people need to feel healthier and happier.

Craven College started life in 1825 as the Skipton Mechanics Institute on the High Street in Skipton. During the Second World War the Skipton Art School and Skipton Technical Institute were established. In 1954 the Skipton Art School and Technical Institution become the Craven Institute for Further Education. In 1974, the College was renamed the Craven College of Adult Education and the full-time courses flourished mainly leading to secretarial work, hospitality and catering, social work and small business management. The Aireville Campus was developed in 1989 adjoining Aireville School (now The Skipton Academy). The Auction Mart Campus was later developed to accommodate all land-based courses and The Aviation Academy was established in Yeadon at Leeds Bradford Airport. Tyro Training was established in 2003 offering flexible training, consultancy and support to business across the North of England. With its HQ at Craven Cattle Mart in Skipton, Tyro Training also has a training base in Scarborough. The Animal Management Centre was opened for students in 2018 with specialist rooms for aquatics, invertebrates, nocturnals, reptiles, amphibians and small mammals. From its premises in Ripon, Evolve supports young people from across North Yorkshire with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties and offers full Study Programmes, with a focus on work experience and skills for employment. In 2020, Craven College became an integral part of the Yorkshire and Humber Institute of Technology – representing significant investment in training resources on the Skipton campus to support education in digital skills such as cyber-security, digital infrastructure, multi-media, software development and gaming.
