Over the last 25 years, I've been lucky enough to build up a successful and well respected floristry business in Cambridge. From humble beginnings in my garden workshop to running my own dedicated shop, my floristry journey has seen me design and create floral arrangements for all manner of occassions and clients including award winning flowers at Chelsea and a bouquet for Her Majesty the Queen. Having dedicated the last two decades to retail floral design, it's now time for me to engage my love for demonstrating and tutoring, and to make use of my floristry teaching qualifications to help others ignite their passion for flowers.

We work with groups of young people teaching them how to write and deliver performance poetry, building their communication skills, confidence and resilience to exploitation. We focus and help identify the positive aspects of their lives, writing about what they love, what they're grateful for and what their dream life looks like. We use various different writing techniques and templates to get them active and involved. We also write as a group or as individuals depending on the size of the workshop and the group's preferences. Our workshops build confidence, aspirations, public speaking and creative writing skills. The stronger our communication the stronger our communities.

I’m Sarah, founder and teacher at CRAFT. I opened CRAFT in February 2020, it’s been a dream for sometime to have a space to be able to teach a subject I love so much. I started sewing as a young girl, sewing together scraps of fabric from my mums fabric box, altering clothes and creating new ones. I’ve always been something I have always enjoyed. I graduated with a first class honours degree in Education in 2009. After graduating I took up a teaching post in a secondary school, specialising in textiles and food technology. After having my first child in 2012 I decided not to return to the classroom and started a business making and selling children’s wear from home. When my second daughter arrived in 2016 I decided to start teaching again. I taught in the workshop room at the back of Annie’s fabric shop most weekends. Workshops became popular and from that CRAFT was born. I wanted to create a space that could be used to teach sewing workshops but also could work with other creative areas. I hope that when people visit CRAFT they feel relaxed and enjoy spending time in the workshop space. I really love teaching here. I love sharing my knowledge, my top tips and my expertise. My aim is to give my students confidence and to share my love and passion of sewing. I want everyone to leave feeling excited to start their next sewing project .

I've always had a love for paper products - buying a new diary was the hightlight of my school year and scraps of wrapping paper, sticker sheets, and vicotorian die cuts were treasured in old shoeboxes to reuse some day. I've always been drawn to kitschy imagery, glittery ephemera and colourful, quirky illustrations - looking back at my younger self, I can totally see why I do what I now do! After years of working in the corporate environment I decided to chase my bigger dream - running gooseglitters fulltime and show the world what beauty we can find in those old, vintage papers. It has become my mission to save as many secondhand books as I possibly can so you can often find me wondering around carboot sales and flea markets. Making new art from these old, used, sometimes ripped and stained, scribbled on, gorgeous papers makes me truly happy. Reusing and repurposing what is already with us and celebrating the life these books have lived, the conversations they've been part off, the households they've lived in: I seriously believe they need to be seen again. What makes me almost happier than creating collages myself is introducing others to this beautiful craft - have a look on my workshop page for more information. Hello there By way of introduction, I'm a seasonal, 'British flowers only' florist and workshop facilitator.   Once upon another life, I worked in Law on behalf of asbestos victims and those suffering from occupational stress and PTSD, but I have always been a gardener. Nature and flowers were forever a refuge, and it was to those things that I returned when I wanted to escape the every day.   I also saw how being in their own green spaces became comforting to clients suffering from terminal pain and psychological illness.  Nature and their gardens held them, and it was with this in mind that I turned to British grown, seasonal flowers as a way of mindful, creative living.  Social and therapeutic horticulture is my passion, and so, too, is allowing flowers to be our wild remedy whenever we need it. My workshops are designed to allow you to reconnect with yourself mindfully as we explore seasonal flower design for wellness.  Together, we create with freshly grown flowers and foliage instinctively and intuitively, allowing our hearts to lead our design.  We work slowly, and in the moment. Beverley and Nigel Caleno own, run and are fully immersed in all aspects of Old Bank Studios life. We bought the Old Bank in Harwich in 2011. Having brought up and educated a family in Colchester, we were looking for a change of lifestyle and an opportunity to build on Bev’s Interior and Soft Furnishing business. Falling in love with this magnificent building and the unspoilt, faded charm of Harwich town, where beautiful architecture sits alongside maritime industry and stunning estuary views…….. we took the plunge. Bev very quickly opened her Textile Studio and it soon became clear that demand for her workshops and courses was going from strength to strength. Encouraged by this success, the decision was made to start inviting tutors from outside to deliver workshops; we were going to need more space! And so began a full restoration of the main banking hall; with it’s high ceiling, perfect light and ample space, our new Art Studio was created. As time went on a kitchen was installed in the former bank vault. Since our first Art Workshop in June 2013, we have successfully run hundreds of one day events and longer courses, attracting many of the country’s leading artists and tutors to work with us. Our reputation has spread far and wide and we regularly welcome students from the four corners of the UK, as well as further afield. On a personal level we both continue to explore and develop our own creativity and hold an annual exhibition of our work. Bev is firmly established as a Textile Artist and more recently a painter in Watercolour, whilst Nigel works in in many media, but is gaining a reputation as a Plein Air Oil Painter. English Artist, Sarah Madsen attended Central Saint Martins School of Art & Design in London, England. There she gained a BA Hons Degree in Jewellery Design. This interest in 3D Design was quite a different direction from her first love of Fine Art. The Desire to follow figurative art has been a constant theme throughout her life as an artist. In 1992 the artist received a Travel Bursary from The Royal Society of British Sculptors on a Medal Design. She has also exhibited at various locations such as the Mall Galleries in London, Silvermine Art Centre in Connecticut and also at Steven Whyte Figurative Sculpture Studio in Carmel, California, USA. After 12 years of living in various locations in the USA. Sarah returned to the U.K in 2013 and started her business "Sarah Madsen Jewellery." “It all started from drawing, always drawing. This all eventually lead to starting my Jewellery business from the kitchen table. (With a family of 4 children, you can only imagine, I grew quickly off the idea of mealtimes.) To thankfully now, a full Jewellery workshop/garden studio in the wilds of Cambridgeshire. Raw materials are transformed by using traditional metalworking techniques such as hammering, filing, stone setting, wax carving and soldering. I create every single item by hand. Pursuing an organic, floral and figurative style. I'm always trying to create a classic or "living feeling" piece (such as the Tiaras.) My aim is to bring quality and design together, to produce carefully crafted Jewellery work that is of heirloom and artistic merit. I feel extremely proud that I'm able to be part of the importance of keeping our skills as craftsmen alive here in the U.K. "
