Learn to screen print using gold metal leaf with local artist and printmaker Lou Davis.In this advanced level screen printing workshop you will&nbsp;learn to coat, expose, print and clean silk screens. You&rsquo;ll have the opportunity to create a two-layer print with one colour layer, and one where we apply metal leaf to your design. Although no previous knowledge is assumed, you will get more from this workshop if you have attended one of our&nbsp;beginner or intermediate level screen printing workshops, or have&nbsp;previous experience of screen printing.You&rsquo;ll learn to create designs for screen printing;&nbsp;transfer your designs to a screen and print onto printmaking paper; and&nbsp;how to register your prints so they print in the same place every time. You&rsquo;ll make an edition of up to ten prints and choose your favourite to frame, ready for your wall or to give as a gift.It&rsquo;s a good idea to think about what you&rsquo;d like to print before the workshop. Please bring some ideas for artwork with you, which we&rsquo;ll draw by hand onto tracing paper during the first part of the workshop. We will have inspiration on hand if you&rsquo;re stuck!It is possible to print from digital images but these must be prepared before the workshop, so if you&rsquo;d like to take up this option, please contact us at least 7 days beforehand so we can properly advise you on what will print well. Time to get your hands dirty and let the sparks fly. Take the chance to make some interesting bits and pieces to take home with you. A great experience for novices to try your hands at one of the oldest trades.
The course is open to all over the age of 16. We can accommodate groups, couples, stag &amp; hen dos.
The day will be spent at the anvil working with hot steel, sparks and fire. Over the day we will cover the basics and produce a range of items including hooks, key rings, letter openers, Fire pokers and many other bits and pieces.
 Run by Master Blacksmith William Holland FWCB of Phoenix Forge.
The courses are typically run in small groups to ensure that everyone gets as much one on one tuition as they require to develop their skills.
 The courses are run in a dedicated professional forge, which is relaxed working environment you will be given the time to progress at your own speed to build your confidence in working with the tools and the hot metal.
If you have done some forging already that&rsquo;s great too, we can demonstrate more elaborate techniques and tricks to help you progress further.

The day will be spent at the anvil working with hot steel, sparks and fire. Over the day we will cover the basics and produce a range of items including hooks, key rings, letter openers, Fire pokers and many other bits and pieces.

The courses are typically run in small groups to ensure that everyone gets as much one on one tuition as they require to develop their skills.

The courses are run in a dedicated professional forge, which is relaxed working environment you will be given the time to progress at your own speed to build your confidence in working with the tools and the hot metal.
If you have done some forging already that’s great too, we can demonstrate more elaborate techniques and tricks to help you progress further.

Craft4Smiles C.I.C. is crafting community that provides accessible high quality creative papercraft and mixed media online programmes for adults. Our courses are social and interactive whether delivered online or in-person. Our aim is to introduce and build crafting skills and the basic skills needed for success in the workplace and at home, including self-confidence, problem solving, communicating in a group, basic maths and English. We teach over 45 different paper craft and mixed media techniques. Each course is carefully constructed to help you develop your crafting skills and knowledge. 
Crafting and our courses are mindful, taking us away from the day-to-day. Participants have consistently reported improvements in their wellbeing. Anyone who wants to learn new skills can join our programmes. No previous experience of papercrafting or mixed media work is needed. We have delivered courses successfully in Cambridgeshire for 6 1/2 years and have worked with 280 Cambridges residents during this time. 86% of participants state that what we offer has helped to improve their wellbeing. 75% state that it has made a positive difference to their daily lives. 
Please note that the Cademy calenda/description states that this course is over 13 weeks. This is because the 10 weeks of the course are delivered over 13 weeks, during 3 of which, Craft4Smiles is closed for holidays!

A standalone 10-week quilling course - 2 hours per week online with daytime and evening options - that will introduce you to the materials, tools, and techniques used in quilling and to Craft4Smiles C.I.C and our tutors.   At the end of each session you will have a lovely quilled item to show family and friends or to display on your shelf!  All materials and equipment needed will be supplied and are yours to keep. This course is helpful for those for whom English is not their native tongue as there is a lot of repetition of basic terms including numbers, colours and directions.
