My lovely mum sent me to a yoga class in my late teens. She planted a seed and the seed grew. Having practised yoga since 1993 and taught since 1999, I have an understanding of how yoga and healing are fundamentally the same. Curing is what mainstream or complimentary medicine may or may not do. Healing is what happens after the Doctors, medicine, surgery and technology have finished. Healing comes from within. I have been through many life experiences including illness, surgery, bereavement, divorce, loss of job, loss of income and bringing up two lovely daughters now in their twenties. Yoga has given me inner strength at times of stress and difficulty for which I am grateful. This has taught me to take life's ups and downs as periods of growth and change. As a teacher I offer my experience of yoga to help explore the possibilities for you. I have contracts to teach yoga to employees of several large Blue Chip Corporations. I currently teach group classes each week in Bristol, as well as private one to one sessions. The breath is the heart of yoga practise. Breathing affects every cell of our being. It brings vital energy into the body. As we learn to watch our breath we let go of old patterns and new energy flows creating new possibilities.

In 2008 Jo met and took refuge with Dharma King Dechan Jeuren – MahaVairocana Buddha, lineage bearer of the Esoteric and LinJi Chan schools in China. She received her Dharma name – Zhi Ling. In April 2015, the MahaAmita Temple was opened by the Mayor of Southend-on-Sea. The only Buddhist Temple in the Borough, Jo was then invited by the Mayor to present the Buddhist flags to him at the Southend Borough Annual General Meeting, which he accepted on behalf of the Borough. In 2016 she was invited to become the Buddhist representative for SACRE (Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education) for the Southend Borough and currently sits on the panel. The Founding Director of the Centre, Jo is an ordained Buddhist teacher and runs meditation and healing sessions weekly and Mindfulness courses monthly. She is a huge advocate of teaching and promoting the benefits of meditation and visits schools, groups and organisations within the local community giving talks and workshops. Her personal philosophy is to be as honest and truthful as possible and specialises in teaching how to open up the heart centre. My name is Joel Chapman. I am a dance instructor from York, England. I became inspired by Latin and Ballroom dancing at the age of 15 after watching the hit ballroom stage show 'Burn the Floor'. My first few years were spent training in Leeds, where I achieved distinctions in all of my exams and won the national UKA championships. As I became keener to grow and develop as a dancer, I began training at Semley Studios in London, considered to be the most prestigious Latin and Ballroom training centre in the world. Here, I was coached by some of the biggest names in the business, including Strictly come Dancing's Matt and Nicole Cutler. I have also been coached by World Ballroom Champions Kyle Taylor and Scott Draper. Whilst attaining successes in the competitive world, including the UK Quarter Finals and winning the Ballroom category at the Britain's Best Dancer awards, I wanted to invest my energies into teaching. After many years of hard work and determination, I am the go-to Latin and Ballroom teacher in York. Whether you are a couple training for competitions or a retired couple looking for social dance lessons, I can offer you classes to suit your needs. Hello, and thank you for popping by. People often ask me why I do what I do. Well, in 2010 I experienced a heartbreaking bereavement to suicide. Sadly, my son’s father, lost his struggle with poor mental health. My son and I faced the challenges and adversity that came with this traumatic experience. This bereavement to suicide contributed towards experiencing a downward spiral of declining mental health. The ‘’just keep swimming’’ mantra, so prevalent in society, became unmanageable. I was drowning and recognised I needed HELP. While researching my way back to good mental health, using tools such as GRM (The Grief Recovery Method ®), Mindfulness and NLP, I discovered that truly HELPful support was hard to find. My realisation that I needed help brought about a motivation to survive and thrive from my experience. I am a proactive and HELPful coach. I use my credentials as a Master NLP practitioner, Grief Recovery Method® Specialist and Mindfulness Teacher to provide an all-encompassing approach that has resulted in helping over 1000 people. My mission is to provide people with HELP that supports positive mental health and prevent other families from experiencing loss due to poor mental health. In all my coaching and training, I apply Honesty and Empathy while really Listening and giving Practical advice that makes a difference. Because it’s OK to ask for HELP.
