Primitive reflexes are the foundation on which our entire nervous system is built! As we develop, our brain learns to integrate them, thus leading to more complex developmental stages. In developmental delays and disorders, as well as in brain injury, this process may be interrupted. Any Professional working with children or a parent interested in improving their child's care should know about these reflexes and how to integrate them. Join us on a full-day seminar with Dr. Omer Hirsh, a developmental disorders specialist, where we will learn what are primitive reflexes, what they look like, how to check for them, and when necessary - how to integrate them. This is the foundation. The seminar will include hands-on experience exercises and ways to integrate the primitive reflexes faster by introducing co-activation of the senses By the end of the seminar you will be able to: • Understand the cause of retained primitive reflexes • The importance of integrating primitive reflexes for normal brain development. • The connection between retained primitive reflexes and the maturation of different networks and paths in the brain. • Know how to test primitive reflexes correctly. • Avoid the traps many therapists fall into while testing for primitive reflexes. • Learn how to integrate primitive reflexes faster by co-activation. • Understand why in some circumstances primitive reflexes return (TBI, Trauma, Stroke) • Learn the correct exercises and how to motivate patients to do them at home. About the speaker: Dr. Omer Hirsh is a Doctor of Chiropractic, Developmental Disorders specialist, CSO and co-founder at eMazeLabs, Health and wellness entrepreneur, and Lecturer. We hear how helpful it is to exercise regularly for health and wellbeing. But when you have fatigue it can be difficult to know if this is going to help or hinder. And suspecting it could be the latter, then when is it the right time to start to feel confident about moving more...and gradually starting to exercise? How this webinar will help you I've helped hundreds of people to navigate this element of their recovery journey and I've used this experience to share in this webinar the most successful ways to plan for, and introduce, movement and exercise. Who is this webinar for? Anyone who thinks they might be nearing a stage where exercise could well be possible again and are keen to ensure it goes well! Whether the goal be to walk, swim, cycle etc. Please note: This event isn't about how to re-condition and move from severe fatigue to achieving some level of activity. That requires careful 1:1 guidance via my coaching service. This webinar is for those who have a base level of activity but want to be smart about where to build from there. My help is relevant to anyone tackling a fatigue recovery journey - whether that be due to ME/CFS, Long Covid etc, or perhaps post-operative recovery. Basically, anyone who has - or has had - an energy-related issue that's meant they have to be very careful about what they commit to doing each day. What topics do you cover? How to spot when you're doing well enough to start thinking about exercising again How to feel confident about starting to do more The types of exercise that seem to go well at first Guidance and tips about HOW to start incorporating exercising into your recovery plan This is a recording of a live webinar that I held a short time ago. After the main presentation we held a Q&A session, and by purchasing this recording you'll also have access to a written capture of the questions asked, and my responses. Contents The webinar recording In this 49 minute video, hear me give advice and tips on how to tackle these tricky communication situations: Communicating your situation to those you live with/are close to - in a way that goes well, and doesn't negatively impact your health/symptoms How to talk to people who are 'helpfully' trying to tell you how to cure yourself (when you know it's wrong!) Socialising with friends when you have fatigue Navigating conversations at large events (weddings, parties etc) How to talk to people who don't understand fatigue (or even believe in it) How to start exercising webinar.mp4 48 mins104 MB A copy of the slides I presented How to start exercising with fatigue.pdf 1.38 MB The Q&A digest This is a written capture of the Q&A discussion, held after my main presentation. I didn't record the Q&A in order to allow those who attended live to feel comfortable switching their cameras on and participating in the discussion. I hope you find this written summary helpful. HOW DANCING CAN IMPROVE YOUR MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH Move your body to your favourite tunes – it’s the ultimate feel-good exercise and has some surprising effects on both the body and mind Music and dance have been fundamental parts of the human experience for thousands of years. No matter what your favourite tune may be, music can have a huge effect on your wellbeing – Charles Darwin even thought that our ability to make and understand rhythmic beats worked as an early form of communication. Whether or not we still share messages through music, we all know that it can change our mood and studies have shown that we share a natural sense of rhythm (no matter how much you might protest). Dance is therefore a natural outlet, and one which can do a lot to make us feel good. Club Azucar offers corporate dance packages for the workplace in order for your organisation (Companies, Institutions & Schools) not only function at its best, but to be happy and healthy in life. These are the expected benefits for the individual employee which have been also confirmed by the participants: Physical Health: Salsa/Zumba or any Latin Dance Classes improves mobility, coordination / motor skills and fitness level.while being a low-impact exercise which includes people of all ages, abilities and fitness levels Mental Health: Dancing requires full concentration so for one hour away from their desk ,participants will experience reduced stress levels, , feel refreshed and more alert and able to concentrate better following the lesson Music in combination with physical exercise has an uplifting effect through the release of endorphins and dopamine in the body & brain Learning a new skill is proven to train your brain, contribute to prevention of dementia and give the confidence to face new tasks and challenges in other areas of work and life The patience and encouragement of the teachers has furthered this new confidence and sense of achievement and contributed to participants’ belief in themselves and their ability to take themselves out of their “comfort zones” and take on new challenges Getting to know each other in a social rather than work context and learning a new skill together, dancing and laughing together, gives participants a sense of belonging and furthers team buildingDo you want more proof?
