Within this day you will learn how to mould a part of your/your partners/ your childs body in a safe, non toxic, water based material called alginate. You will then learn how to make a cast from that mould using a sculpture plaster. Once the cast is removed from the mould you will learn how to 'fettle' the cast in other words make it perfect, then you'll have the option of adding a colour to the cast or mounting it on a stand. What you learn during the course can be used to cast your children's hands and feet when you're back at home, I can supply all the materials you need to do this. I've been running this type of workshop for 25 years so I'm very experienced in the process. I cast my own mothers hands about a year before she died and they are my most prized possessions as they have picked up so much detail

Half day rally navigator training workshop scheduled to be ideal for crews doing the 2025 Tour of Cheshire Historic Road Rally but open to all.

What you will learn: Sarah will be sharing her skills of upcycling with you on this workshop and helping you transform a drab piece into something creative and desirable, having fun along the way in this relaxed workshop for any level! The perfect Mother's Day gift! The workshop covers painting and decoupage and we teach a further creative technique of "how to make your piece yours" and alternative inspiration and techniques will be discussed throughout the two days. A picture of your chosen piece and wallpaper will need to be emailed to us latest 5 days before the start of the workshop. You will need to bring: - A small chosen piece of furniture. - Wallpaper or a poster to decoupage with. - Please Bring your own mask ( one spare). This is an excellent introduction to stone setting for those who have always wished to learn to set stones. For those with some experience, you can create a more detailed ring which explores textures and more advanced design techniques. WHEN: Saturday 26th October 10-5pm WHERE: Workshop 925 based at The Mayford Centre, just outside of Woking and very close to Guildford. Unit F9 The Mayford Centre, Mayford Green Woking, Surrey  GU22 0PP TUTOR: Kirsten Hendrich WHAT DOES THE DAY INVOLVE? Some stones might not be suitable due to size or shape, so please be aware if you do bring along your own stones, it might not be suitable for the setting technique but we will advise you on the day. Stones shouldn’t be smaller than 8-10mm for those new to setting as they can be hard to work with and is it harder to see the processes involved in setting. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None, all abilities are welcomed. We support you throughout the session and provide demonstrations to show you the techniques and steps needed to create your project. All tools and consumables are supplied YOU WILL BE PROVIDED WITH: 2xm x 2cm 0.5mm silver sheet 15cm bezel strip 5mm high one stone 10cm 2mm silver round wire WHAT TO BRING: For safety reasons, during each class, you are required to wear appropriate footwear, we request that no open toed shoes are worn within Workshop 925. Long hair should also be tied back when working with the equipment. You may also wish to bring a notebook. We have handouts for many demonstrations, but there are always many tips and tricks given verbally by the tutor, which some might like to keep note of. Also pack your own lunch, snacks and drinks for the session. We regret we can’t offer tea and coffee at the moment due to Coronavirus so make sure you bring enough refreshments and supplies to keep you going during the day.
