Welcome to Cademy. I'm Chris Carter. I love exploring the world with pen and brush whether it be by land, sea or air! Here on Cademy, I present tips and techniques I've learned over a lifetime of sketching, drawing and painting. My classes are designed with two purposes in mind: to present tips and techniques that help you learn new skills and master current skills; and as quick reference for those of you who have attended one of my live workshops. I create large, abstract watercolours and oil paintings in my studio.  I travel more than half the year, painting and teaching live workshops mainly in the UK, Paris, California and Maryland. While traveling, I work realistically, mostly in sketchbooks.  Even when at home I make sure to sketch dailyt from reality to keep my eye, hand and brain coordination well-honed. Having been actively involved in a variety of sports from an early age, my passion for health and fitness soon led to a desire for a greater understanding of the body and how it adapts. After studying Physical Education at A-Levels, before graduating with a BSc. (Hons.) degree in Sport Science in 2000, I then travelled to Australia for a year with the objective of challenging myself further by throwing myself out of planes and scuba-diving to earn my respective licences, white water rafting, surfing and generally anything else that got the adrenaline pumping. When I returned in 2001 I moved over to Bristol, which I am proud to call “home’ and I have now worked in the fitness industry for over ten years. My training specialties lie in core control, strength training and endurance training, all of which are crucial components in my own sports of distance running (10km, cross country, half and full marathon), boxing, football and, when I get time – surfing! Michelle, A.I.S.T.D. , M.B.T.D.A. , Reg RAD Member, began teaching Adult Jazz Dancing in Portishead in 1989. In 1995 the children of the adults wanted a class of their own. Numbers grew rapidly. Michelle also taught for the Bristol School of Dancing (where she trained) from 1986 until February 2014 when the branch was handed over to Michelle. In the Summer of 2014, a super sparkly 25th Anniversary show was staged to celebrate. In June 2016 Michelle was contacted by the BBC to be filmed dancing for the TV programme Street Auction – A fabulous day. MBDS likes to stay in the heart of the community. The children enjoy performing in various events ie carnival, flashmobs,displays etc. MBDS has been involved in the BBC CIN Tapathon for the last 4 years. The school also has 100% exam pass rate. This year the school renamed itself from Jazz on Tap Dance Company to Michelle Bedford Dance Studios. We are a fully ‘inclusive’ school and warmly welcome pupils regardless! London Writing School offers online writing workshops designed to offer some inspiration, make you think about the craft of writing and carve out some time in the day to get pen to paper.  Our paid courses allow you develop an idea at your own pace. Who are the workshops for? Perhaps you want to give writing a go but aren’t sure what will happen. Maybe you used to write and want to get back to it. Or you write, but would like more structured inspiration and a practice session. The sessions are designed so that you can make the most of them whatever stage you're at.  What do we do? We usually have a warm up exercise around the theme of the workshop, do a little bit free writing, and then there’s a chance to build a more structured scene that could go on to become a short story, or even spark an idea for a novel. If you are full of ideas we hope to bring them into sharper focus, if you’re feeling a bit creatively empty we aim to fill you up and get you going again.  Do we share work? In the free sessions we don’t read out work or share it with others. Come and experiment with no judgement. About the teacher I've been shortlisted for various awards and schemes including the BBC Writers’ Room, Crime Writers Association Debut Dagger, Theatre 503 seed commissions and the Launch Pad Manuscript Competition. I write in different forms. My work has been on stage in London, audio drama 'The Grove' has thousands of downloads and my novel 'A Company of Roses' is available on Amazon. I have an MA in Screenwriting and a PGCE from Goldsmiths University where my focus was on creativity.
